With a family history on Vancouver Island dating back to 1914, John is a passionate believer in the investment potential and unique lifestyle the island offers. This passion led John to choose the central island as the homebase for his residential and commercial real estate sales and marketing firm: Cooper, McLintock & Associates. John has entrepreneurship in his blood and has always had an aptitude for business. A natural leader, John leveraged his Honours BBA in Marketing to work in the field of international marketing and branding, as well as running his own businesses. In 2008, just prior to one of the worst real estate markets in recent history, John launched his real estate sales and marketing business and quickly defied the odds, establishing himself as the #1 top producing agent at RE/MAX of Nanaimo Downtown within 24 months. By 2012, John grew his firm to include a senior partner, Sean McLintock, and now employs six people, in addition to providing contract work to several local service providers. In 2013, Cooper, McLintock & Associates sold a home every 3.5 days; representing buyers and sellers on $35 Million worth of Vancouver Island real estate.
John believes a community’s strength is rooted in the strength of the local economy, and as such volunteers his time as president of the Downtown Nanaimo Business Improvement Association, and as president of the Nanaimo Business Networking Association.
