On Sunday February 8, 2009 at General Motors place the “Skate for a Cure” fundraiser gave participants the opportunity to skate on the same ice as the Vancouver Canucks. The money raised at Skate for a Cause is to help the fight against childhood cancer!  RE/MAX was one of the sponsors for this great cause. For more information go to www.skateforacure.com
 

By participating in the Yard Sale for the Cure you are making a difference in women’s lives.  Last year, through the passion and generosity of participants, over $150,000 was raised towards the fight against breast cancer.  RE/MAX has been the presenting sponsor of Yard Sale for the Cure from the very beginning and has embraced the vision of a world where our daughters may never hear the words, “you have breast cancer.” Your involvement means a lot. Here’s how you can get involved.

How can you get involved?
Incorporate the Yard Sale for the Cure event into your spring marketing campaign. You can do this through your own website, email communication with your client data base, or mail the promotion card, available at www.bestagent.ca, in a download format to your clients. In addition, consider incorporating the Yard Sale for the Cure logo into all of your marketing materials.

Host a sale at your brokerage
Work with your Broker Owner and colleagues and have a larger than life yard sale at your office. Complimentary office yard sale kits will be provided and include: banners, print ads, press releases, radio promotion (where applicable), posters, hats, balloons, etc.

Host a yard sale at home
You may do so by registering your yard sale at www.yardsaleforthecure.com. For a minimal fee you will receive a host kit which includes a lawn sign, hat, pink balloons, promotional materials and information to help you be successful.

How is Yard Sale for the Cure promoted?

Where does the money go?
There are almost 30 different beneficiaries listed at the Yard Sale for the Cure website, and you may choose more than one. What is great about your donation is that 100% of what you donate goes directly to the cause. The Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation is the primary recipient.

The 2009 Quest for Excellence Bursary program is still open for submissions!  Students are able to apply on-line at www.remax-western.ca and complete the on-line entry form available from September 15, 2008 to March 6, 2009. Winners will be posted on the website on May 4th, 2009.
