Booking Procedures For RE/MAX Affiliates
Overview
The RE/MAX Special Events Team is Western
Canada’s corporate hot air balloon program
effective January 1, 2010. Three teams
travel throughout their operational
territories (shown below) and can be booked
by Group Advertising (GA) Committees, Broker
Owners or Sales Associates. It is now
possible to get the RE/MAX hot air balloon
to tether at a local community event –
however they must be booked well in advance.
The RE/MAX hot air balloon will fly with
media passengers only.

RE/MAX of Western Canada contracts Sundance
Balloons to operate on our behalf.
How many Special Events Teams are there?
There are three Special Events Teams: one
for Manitoba/Saskatchewan, one for Alberta
and one for BC (except the Okanagan).
The team is to be shared within each
operation area.
What is included in the Special Events Team
program?
• A RE/MAX hot air balloon and a
three-person basket
• RE/MAX Special Events Team decaled
truck/trailer
• Inflatable house tent
• Cold air balloon
• Bouncing castle
The items travel together as a team; pricing
is based on the needs of the event. Consult
the Request Form for price options.
Who has access to the Special Events
Team?
Local GA Committees (reps), Broker Owners
and RE/MAX associates in all areas of
Western Canada have access the RE/MAX
Special Events Team. Information binders,
including pricing, were mailed to each
office in 2009. Use the appropriate Request
Form to request the team.
How do I request the Special Events Team?
Fill in one of the request forms attached or
call Sundance Balloons at the numbers listed
below. Schedules and information can be
found at

How far in advance can
I request the RE/MAX Special Events Team?
Currently, requests are fulfilled on a
first-come/first-served basis. The more
notice you can give, the better chances of
getting the team and having a successful
event.
Can the tethered RE/MAX Hot Air Balloon
carry passengers?
Yes.
Can I still buy a ride on the RE/MAX Hot
Air Balloon?
No. Sundance Balloons sells passenger ride
vouchers for flights in their non-RE/MAX hot
air balloons in major markets at discounted
rates to RE/MAX associates.
Who can ride in the RE/MAX Hot Air
Balloon for a flight?
Only media personnel (such as journalists,
reporters and other dignitaries) as
determined by Regional Office.
Is the cost Group Advertising (GA)
eligible?
Yes, for Single Offices, the Broker should
contact their Member Services representative
at Region Office to receive pre-approval and
a purchase order number.
Any individual office or agent can request,
and pay for, the Special Events Team to come
and do a private event. The cost is
according to the needs of the event; consult
your RE/MAX Special Events binder.
What makes an event “GA eligible”?
In order to be “GA eligible”, the event must
be open to the public, on public property
and cannot promote one single agent or
office.
What are “credits”
and how does it work?
In each multi-office area, there are an
assigned number of ‘credits’ according to
the contract, for ‘GA eligible’ events as
follows:
British Columbia Team:
•
Vancouver - 83
• Outlying BC (to be added in 2011)
• Kelowna - 16
• Penticton - 1.5
• Vernon/Armstrong - 8
• Kamloops - 6.5
The team must accomplish the number of
credits in each multi-office area city
listed. Credits can only be used when
approved by the Local GA Committee.
Broker Owners and GA Committee Reps in
multi-office areas can request the balloon
team for a “tethered” hot air balloon event,
including the balloon, bouncing castle,
inflatable tent, etc. Consult the form for
the schedule of credits. The request must be
submitted to Sundance Balloons on the
attached “Multi-Office Area Request Form”.
The request is verified by Sundance, who in
turn, forwards it to the local GA Committee
for approval of credits. Once approved and
signed by the GA Chair, the number of
credits is authorized. Each Multi-office
Area must use their credits for tethered
events and/or flights in the current year
(mid May - October 31). See the request form

Unallocated credits will be used for flights
in that Multi-Office Area. We reserve the
right to provide program updates as
required.
