A home is what you make it, but a great location helps… Charlotte was raised in the Innisfree area but has made Vermilion her second home for over 30 years. After graduating from Innisfree Delnorte School, Charlotte studied Journalism at SAIT in Calgary. During Christmas break of her second year, she saw a job posting for the ad sales position at the Vermilion Standard. When she got the job, college was abandoned and a 27 year career in Sales and Marketing began in Vermilion. While at the paper, Charlotte developed a great rapport with her clients and members of the surrounding communities. It is not hard to do what you love, and this was true with her time at the paper. After retiring from the newspaper business in 2017, Charlotte hit the ground running. She began training in the kitchen and bath design program “2020", with Toma Fine Floors. Over the last 3 years she has learned about all aspects of the design process from layout and planning, to choosing the right products to make your house a beautiful home. As well, Charlotte worked with the Vermilion Branch #11 Royal Canadian Legion to update the history of their Branch and published “We Will Remember Them, A History of Field Marshal Alexander Branch, No. 11” in May 2018. She was also part of the Board of the Vermilion & District Housing Foundation Living Well Capital Campaign, which raised over $1.4 million dollars for improvements to Vermilion’s senior housing. In her spare time, Charlotte lives in Innisfree with her family and is active in the great outdoors, gardening, quadding and hunting.
