Marina Kooman is proud to be born & raised in Red Deer. As a child growing up in Sunnybrook she remembers spending long summer days exploring the Waskasoo Creek woods nearby & venturing many miles on her bike – even across HWY 2 to Fort Normandeau & north all the way to Blackfalds. Marina returned to Sunnybrook 6 years ago after residing in many different neighborhoods in Red Deer. When the opportunity came to move back to the close she grew up in, she jumped on it. She lives there now with her husband, Mike. As empty-nesters they enjoy the quiet, peaceful neighborhood, & the beautiful trail system where she can daily walk her Labradoodle, Freya. Marina & Mike have been active community members since they were married in 1994. Marina is no stranger to the real estate industry. In 1989 she co-founded Your House Your Home magazine. She worked with many former & present REALTORS® for 28 years, providing a place for home buyers to see what properties were available for sale & when & where open houses were being held. Marina is a people-oriented person. Her trustworthy nature comes through quickly; she often knows a life-story within minutes of meeting someone as they quickly realize her caring, compassionate nature and open up their hearts to her. She enjoys volunteering wherever needed, from teaching Sunday School at church to helping with athletic events in the city. Her passion for real estate comes naturally. She watches every imaginable home-buying & renovation shows. Her love for England makes Escape to the Country a particular favorite. Having owned & renovated half a dozen homes in Red Deer, her keen eye for potential & how to transform a property is an invaluable tool for a career in real estate. Nothing excites her more than finding the perfect property for her clients. Marina is thrilled to be a Sold Sister with her sibling, Marcella Barthel, & happy to be part of the RE/MAX team in Red Deer!
