I have found that my clients want to know me before they hire me. That’s understandable. People want to do business with like-minded people so let me tell you a little bit about myself and my approach. I want you to be successful in your real estate transactions and I strive to build trust, loyalty, and satisfaction into all my dealings with all my clients. Success is not always measured just by sales. More importantly, success is also about maintaining relationships. Building solid relationships always increases success and satisfaction for everyone involved. Discerning and appreciating the sometimes small but special needs of my clients and acting upon them in a more than satisfactory manner is always rewarding to me. I bring an intimate knowledge and deep enjoyment of the Sunshine Coast to all the work I do in Real Estate. I have walked, ran, swam, driven, hiked, biked, horse backed, or skied, almost every square meter. I was born and raised and made my own family home here, and I still believe the coast is one of the most beautiful places in the world. I have been in Real Estate on the Sunshine Coast since 1994.In this work, I like to ask how might I make a difference and help someone in their life goals. I see this approach as a continuation of how I seek to live my life both professionally and personally. Raised in a large family, amongst the values I learned were humour, patience, independence, and responsibility and service to the community. Prior to entering into Real Estate, I owned and managed Ernie & Gwen’s Drive-in - a local and popular burger and ice-cream place, employing many local residents, and serving hundreds and hundreds of loyal customers, good food at reasonable prices. (Little known fact, I started at this place when I was a teenager, after winning a unicycle riding contest). Prior to owning this business, I worked as a Paramedic both part-time locally and full time within some of the vulnerable population of Vancouver’s East Side, through the 1980s with BC Emergency Health Services. When BC welcomed the world for Expo 86, I also worked there part-time as a Paramedic. Soon after high-school, I worked in forestry services for the L & K log sort as a First Aid Attendant. I also served on the local town council for a few terms. In many ways I have been serving and caring for people my entire working career. Since entering Real Estate, I have been in the Medallion Club (Top 10% of all the realtors in the Greater Vancouver Real Estate Board). Over the years I have always been one of the coasts top selling Realtors. I have won numerous production awards, including the President’s Circle and Chairman’s Circle, but the awards that I cherish the most are for community service. - Chris O’Brian Award of Excellence - Chamber of Commerce Business Person of the Year 1996 - Realtor Care Award 2010 - Diamond Master Medallion Club – Life Member I believe in giving back to our community. A special place for me to give back is through working with Habitat for Humanity Sunshine Coast. This organization invites and allows people to move beyond working at the poverty line and achieve the goal of owning their own home. The Sunshine Coast has been a great place to raise my two daughters. Both my daughters are now graduated from Elphinstone Secondary in Gibsons. When I am not selling homes, my renewing time is usually just after 6 AM when you can find me running the mountain trails with our dogs or riding my horse in the Roberts Creek area.
