The Akerman family first settled on Salt Spring Island in the 1860s. Patrick’s great grandfather, Joseph Akerman first came to Salt Spring and was later joined by his new wife Martha Clay, whom he met after she sailed from England on the bride ship “Robert Lowe”. Joseph and Martha set up their home in the Burgoyne/Fulford Valley of Salt Spring.
Like his ancestors before him, Patrick Akerman has lived on Salt Spring his entire life, acquiring a vast knowledge of the island, its history and its community. After graduating from high school, Patrick worked on the family farm, constructed homes and worked in the forest industry. This experience and background has proved invaluable to him in his career as a real estate agent on Salt Spring Island.
Patrick Akerman is a Fourth Generation Salt Spring Islander. He enjoys meeting and helping people fulfill their dream of living on beautiful Salt Spring Island.
