It is a reasonably short car ride to the nearest highway, such as Trans-Canada Highway, from any location in this part of Abbotsford, and it is very easy to find a parking spot. However, the transit in Whatcom is not very convenient. Nevertheless, the neighbourhood is connected by a few bus lines, and bus stops are commonly very close by. Whatcom is not particularly amenable to biking as the bicycling infrastructure is not very comprehensive, and there are quite a few elevation changes. Traveling by walking is also not very convenient for property owners in Whatcom because few common errands can be run without a vehicle.
