Winnipeg real estate guide & listings for sale

Winnipeg offers a relaxed atmosphere and will appeal to home buyers who enjoy spending time in green spaces. This city is reasonably quiet, as there are usually low levels of noise from traffic - although that is not the case near Perimeter Highway, the airport (YWG) or one of the railway lines. Finally, there are over 1200 green spaces nearby for residents to visit, such as Kilcona Park and Assiniboine Park, and they are very well-spread out, which results in them being easy to reach from a lot of locations within this city.

Transportation

The preferred transportation option in Winnipeg is very often a car. It is a short drive to the closest highway, such as Perimeter Highway, from any location in Winnipeg, and parking is generally easy. On the other hand, public transit users may have limited options in this city by reason of the infrequent service. Nevertheless, homeowners benefit from over 50 bus lines, and most properties are very close to a bus stop. This city is not very convenient for walking because very few common errands can be run without the use of a vehicle.

Housing

Single detached homes are the predominant housing type, representing the majority of dwellings in Winnipeg, while large apartment buildings and small apartment buildings are also present in the housing stock. About one third of properties in this city were constructed pre-1960, while many of the remaining buildings were constructed in the 1960s and the 1980s. This city also has a good variety of housing size options; homes range from lofts to four or more bedrooms. About two thirds of the population of this city own their home and renters make up the remainder.

Services

It is a rather short walk to reach both primary and secondary schools from most houses for sale in this city. Besides public schools, there are private elementary and secondary schools. In contrast, daycares are not very abundant and thus tend to require a rather long walk to get to. In terms of eating, the nearest supermarket in Winnipeg is usually only a reasonably short walk away. Marion Street is among the best streets for groceries. Residents can enjoy over 2000 restaurants and coffee shops as well.
