The character of Blackmud Creek is exemplified by its relaxed atmosphere. This neighbourhood is especially quiet, as noise from the streets and other parts of the city is rarely an issue. Lastly, there are a few public green spaces close by for residents to visit, like Blackmud Creek Park, and they are very well-situated, which makes them very easy to reach.


The favoured method of transportation in this neighbourhood is usually a car. Many properties for sale are a reasonably short drive from the nearest highway, and parking is generally easy. On the other hand, residents using public transit may have limited options in Blackmud Creek due to the low service level. Thankfully, residents have access to a few bus lines, and bus stops are usually nearby. Commuting by bicycle is easy in Blackmud Creek because the bicycling infrastructure is excellent, and the terrain is reasonably flat. A majority of the homes for sale in this neighbourhood are located in areas that are not very conducive to walking as very few daily errands can be run on foot.


In Blackmud Creek, roughly half of dwellings are single detached homes, while small apartment buildings are the main alternative in the housing stock. This part of the city is primarily composed of three bedroom and two bedroom homes. Around three quarters of the properties in the neighbourhood are occupied by homeowners and one quarter are rented. The homes in this area are very new, since almost all of its dwellings were built after the year 2000, while the majority of the remaining buildings were constructed 1990.


Blackmud Creek does not contain any high schools or primary schools. In addition, daycares are not particularly numerous and accordingly tend to require an extended walk to get to. As far as eating is concerned, it is straightforward to reach the nearest grocery store on foot from any location in Blackmud Creek. There are also a limited number of options for those who value nearby restaurants and cafes.
