Box Grove is a good neighbourhood to buy a home in for those who prefer a slower-paced environment. There are a few public green spaces close by for residents to explore, which makes them easy to get to. Most areas in this neighbourhood are reasonably quiet, as there are generally low levels of noise from traffic - however some parts can be quite loud, especially near Highway 407 or one of the railway lines.

Transportation

Box Grove is very car friendly. It is very convenient to come across a place to park, and nearby highways, such as Highway 407, are reasonably easy to reach from anywhere in this part of Markham. However, commuting by transit can be difficult in Box Grove due to the service's low frequency. Nevertheless, the neighbourhood is connected by a few bus lines, and bus stops are not very far from most houses. Moving around by bicycle is challenging in Box Grove because there are a good number of hills for cyclists to brave, and the cycling network is rather poor. Box Grove is also not very suitable for walking since very few common errands can be run without the use of a car.

Housing

The substantial percentage of single detached homes in the housing stock of Box Grove is an important part of its character. This neighbourhood is primarily composed of three bedroom and four or more bedroom homes. Homeowners occupy roughly 90% of the units in Box Grove and the remainder are rented. This part of Markham experienced its largest construction boom after the year 2000, so most of the available housing is from this era.

Services

Some residents in Box Grove may have the option to shop for groceries by walking, while others will have to turn to a vehicle. There are also a few opportunities for those who appreciate restaurants and cafes in close proximity. With regards to education, families will welcome that wherever their house is located in this area, primary schools are close by. However, Box Grove does not have any high schools.
