Capilano real estate guide & listings for sale

Capilano is a reasonably good neighbourhood to buy a house in for those who prefer a slower-paced environment. There are a few green spaces nearby for residents to unwind in and they are very well-distributed, making them very easy to get to. Most areas in this neighbourhood are reasonably quiet, as the streets tend to be quite peaceful - although that is not the case closer to Trans-Canada Highway.


The car is very often the preferred means of transportation in Capilano. It is very convenient to park, and many real estate listings are a short drive from the nearest highway, such as Trans-Canada Highway. In contrast, Capilano is not very transit friendly. Nonetheless, house owners benefit from a few bus lines, and the closest bus stop is usually just around the corner. Capilano is not very suited for cycling since bike riders are faced with quite a few slopes, and the bicycling infrastructure is not very well-developed. Travelling on foot is also not particularly practical for house buyers in this neighbourhood because few daily errands can be run without the use of a car.


In Capilano, many buildings are single detached homes, while small apartment buildings, duplexes, and townhouses are the main alternatives in the housing stock. This neighbourhood is primarily composed of three bedroom and four or more bedroom homes. Homeowners occupy about 85% of the properties in the neighbourhood and the remainder are rented. This neighbourhood did not experience a single building boom; the construction of new dwellings in Capilano was spread throughout several decades in recent history.


It is often an option for property owners in Capilano to buy groceries by walking. There are also a limited number of options for those who care about nearby restaurants. Regarding education, in this part of the municipality, parents and their children will usually be able to get to daycares and primary schools on foot. On the other hand, Capilano does not have any high schools.
