Capitol Hill is a reasonably good neighbourhood to buy a home in for those who prefer a slower-paced environment. The noise levels in this part of Calgary are quite low, as the streets tend to be peaceful. Lastly, it is very easy to get to public green spaces from numerous locations within the neighbourhood since there are a few of them close by for residents to enjoy.


Capitol Hill will please home buyers that appreciate various modes of transportation. It is easy for pedestrians to move around in Capitol Hill; many daily errands can be run without needing to use a car. However, this part of Calgary is not very cycling-friendly since. Thankfully, cyclists do not face serious slopes. With a few nearby bus lines, commuting by public transit is easy in Capitol Hill. Driving is also a very good transportation option in this neighbourhood. Nearby highways are especially easy to drive to from anywhere in this area, and it is easy to park.


Renters occupy around 55% of the units in the neighbourhood and 45% are occupied by owners. In this area, about 30% of dwellings are single detached homes, whereas the rest are mainly small apartment buildings, duplexes, and townhouses. Around one third of properties in this area were built pre-1960, while the majority of the remaining buildings were constructed in the 1960s and the 1980s. This neighbourhood is primarily composed of three bedroom and two bedroom homes.


Daycares and schools are easy to walk to from most homes for sale in this area. With regards to food, the closest grocery store in Capitol Hill is usually only a short walk away. In addition, this part of Calgary is a good place in which to eat out or go to a cafe. Property owners benefit from a fair number of clothing stores within walking distance.
