A highlight of Cedardale is its wide selection of green spaces. There are approximately 10 parks nearby for residents to visit and they are very well-spread out, which results in them being very easy to access from many locations in the neighbourhood. Lastly, this part of West Vancouver is relatively quiet, as there are few pedestrians, although there can be more noise for those who are closer to Trans-Canada Highway.


The best method to move around in this area is usually a car. Many properties for sale are a short drive from the nearest highway, such as Trans-Canada Highway, and it is very easy to park. However, the public transit service in this part of the municipality is not very frequent. Nonetheless, the neighbourhood is served by about 10 bus lines, and most houses are very close to a bus stop. Cedardale is not especially conducive to walking as most daily needs are sometimes difficult to carry out without the use of a vehicle. Cedardale is also not very amenable to biking since bicycle riders encounter a considerable amount of hills, and the bicycling infrastructure is not very extensive.


Small apartment buildings are the predominant housing type, representing roughly 30% of buildings in Cedardale, and the remaining dwellings are mainly large apartment buildings and single detached homes. This neighbourhood has a good variety of unit sizes, ranging from lofts to four or more bedrooms. About 70% of the population of this neighbourhood own their home whereas renters make up the remainder. This neighbourhood did not experience a single construction boom; the construction of new dwellings in Cedardale was spread throughout several decades in the twentieth and twenty-first century.


It is often feasible for property owners in Cedardale to do their grocery shopping by walking. In addition, this area is a fairly good place in which to go out to eat. Regarding education, parents and their children will welcome the proximity to primary schools, which are within walking distance from vast majority houses for sale in Cedardale. In contrast, this part of the municipality does not contain any high schools. Residents have the choice between public and private primary schools.
