Cedardale is very car friendly. Coming across a parking spot is easy, and nearby highways, such as Trans-Canada Highway, are very easy to reach from any home in this area. On the other hand, public transit users may find few options in Cedardale by reason of the service's low frequency. Nonetheless, there are about 10 bus lines traversing the neighbourhood, and bus stops are not very far away from most homes. The bicycle is a quite bad method of transportation in Cedardale because there are very few bike lanes, and riding is made arduous by the often steep topography. It is also at times challenging for people walking to get around in Cedardale as few daily errands can be run on foot.


In Cedardale, about 30% of dwellings are small apartment buildings, while the rest are mainly large apartment buildings and single detached homes. This area is primarily composed of four or more bedroom and two bedroom homes. Homeowners occupy about 70% of the properties in the neighbourhood whereas the rest are rented. The buildings in this neighbourhood are relatively new, since about one quarter of its dwellings were built between 1990 and 2000, while most of the remaining buildings were constructed pre-1960 and in the 1960s.


It is a short walk to get to primary schools from any location in Cedardale. On the other hand, this part of West Vancouver does not contain any high schools. At the primary level, both public and private schools can be found. With regards to food, a supermarket is ordinarily reachable within a rather short walk from any home in Cedardale. Moreover, those who like to dine in restaurants will have a fair number of opportunities.
