There is an extensive selection of green spaces in Commerce Valley. Parks are especially well-spread out and there are a few of them nearby for residents to discover, which makes them easy to access. This area remains relatively quiet, since there are few pedestrians, although those who are around Highway 404 or Highway 407 may experience more noise.
Commerce Valley is an extraordinarily good part of Markham for driving. Parking is easy, and most of the street network is conducive to cars. However, the public transit system in this neighbourhood is not especially convenient. Nonetheless, house owners benefit from around 10 bus lines, and bus stops are not very far-removed from most homes. Moving around by bicycle is difficult in this neighbourhood since there is a significant amount of elevation changes, and there are very few bike lanes. Travelling on foot is also not especially practical for home buyers in Commerce Valley because carrying out day-to-day needs is occasionally challenging on foot.
Around three quarters of the properties in the neighbourhood are occupied by homeowners whereas the rest are rented. The predominance of large apartment buildings in the housing stock of this area is an important part of its character. Most homes in this part of Markham were constructed following the year 2000, during its most significant construction boom. This neighbourhood offers mainly two bedroom and one bedroom homes.
It is convenient to access the closest supermarket on foot in Commerce Valley. Likewise, there are a good number of opportunities in close proximity for those who appreciate restaurants and cafes. With respect to education, it is a reasonably short walk to access both primary and secondary schools from most houses for sale in this part of the city. On the other hand, daycares are not very numerous and accordingly not always within walking distance.
