Cumberland offers a calm ambience and will appeal to those who enjoy spending time outdoors. This neighbourhood is very quiet, as there are usually low levels of noise from traffic. Lastly, there are a few public green spaces nearby for residents to unwind in, like Hudson Park and Cumberland Park, and they are especially well-spread out, which makes it easy to get to them from the majority of locations in this area.


This neighbourhood is very car friendly. Parking is easy. On the other hand, the public transit service in Cumberland is not very frequent. Thankfully, residents have access to a few bus lines, and most properties are very close to a bus stop. This part of Edmonton is quite conducive to bicycling because riding is facilitated by the generally flat terrain, and there are numerous bike lanes. Cumberland is not very suitable for those who travel by foot because running daily errands is impractical by walking.


The housing stock of Cumberland is composed predominantly of single detached homes and townhouses. This part of the city offers mainly four or more bedroom and three bedroom homes. Homeowners occupy roughly 85% of the properties in the neighbourhood and 15% are rented. This area experienced its most significant construction boom following the year 2000, so most of the available homes are from this era.


It is a rather short walk to reach both primary and secondary schools from most houses for sale in this part of Edmonton. However, parents may consider it difficult for their children to access daycares on foot. Regarding eating, house buyers in this area will appreciate that a grocery store is always only a reasonably short walk away. A small variety of restaurants and coffee shops can be found as well.
