The character of Legacy is exemplified by its slower-paced atmosphere. Public green spaces are easy to reach since there are a few of them close by for residents to discover. This part of Calgary is very quiet overall, as there tend to be low levels of noise from traffic.


Cars are a great means of transportation in Legacy. The majority of real estate listings are a reasonably short drive from the closest highway, and it is especially convenient to come across a place to park. On the other hand, the public transit network in Legacy is not very practical. Legacy is not very amenable to cycling since. Nonetheless, cyclists do not encounter serious hills. It is also very impractical for people travelling on foot to navigate this part of the city since almost no common errands can be run without needing to use a vehicle.


Single detached homes and townhouses are the main housing type in Legacy. This part of the city also has quite a good variety of housing size options; there is a higher proportion of three bedroom homes in this area. Homeowners occupy roughly 90% of the units in Legacy whereas renters occupy the remainder. Most housing in this area was built after the year 2000, during its largest building boom.


It is a rather short walk to access high schools from most homes for sale in this part of the city. However, there are no primary schools in Legacy. In terms of eating, house buyers in Legacy typically need a vehicle to travel to the nearest grocery store. A limited number of cafes is available.
