Mississauga real estate guide & listings for sale

Mississauga is a good city to buy a home in for those who prefer a slower-paced ambience. Most areas in this city are quiet, as the streets are usually reasonably peaceful - although that is not the case close to Highway 409, Highway 403, the airport (YYZ) or one of the railway lines. Finally, there are over 600 green spaces nearby for residents to explore, including Riverwood Park and Jack Darling Memorial Park, resulting in them being easy to access from many locations in Mississauga.

Transportation

The favoured method to move around in this city is very often driving. Most properties for sale are a reasonably short car ride from the closest highway, such as Highway 427, and it is very easy to access a parking spot. However, Mississauga is not especially transit friendly. Nonetheless, residents benefit from the Port Credit Station, Meadowvale Station and Cooksville Station with access to the Milton Line, Lakeshore West Line, Kitchener Line and Union Pearson Express Line. Homeowners have access to over 100 bus lines, and bus stops are ordinarily nearby. It is easy to get around by bike in Mississauga because there are a good number of bike lanes. Travelling on foot is not particularly convenient for house buyers in this part of the Toronto metropolitan area since running common errands is occasionally difficult by walking.

Housing

Roughly 70% of the units in the city are occupied by homeowners and 30% are rented. Single detached homes are the most common housing type, representing roughly 40% of dwellings in this part of the Toronto metropolitan area, and the rest of the homes are mainly large apartment buildings and townhouses. Around 30% of properties in this city were constructed in the 1960s and 1970s, while many of the remaining buildings were built in the 1980s and the 1990s. This city is primarily composed of four or more bedroom and three bedroom homes.

Services

House buyers in Mississauga will welcome that a grocery store is always only a rather short walk away. In addition, a restaurant is commonly just around the corner, and a small variety of coffee shops can be found as well. When it comes to education, primary schools are easy to get to on foot from anywhere in Mississauga. In contrast, parents and their kids may find it difficult to access high schools as a pedestrian. Besides public schools, there are private elementary and high schools.
