Transportation

Morningside is a fairly pleasant part of Toronto for moving around by public transit thanks to a few nearby bus lines. In contrast, Morningside is not very cycling-friendly because there are few bike lanes, and bike riders encounter a considerable amount of slopes. Morningside is not particularly conducive to those who travel by foot because common errands are at times difficult to run without having to use a vehicle. It is a rather short drive to the nearest highway, such as Highway 401, from any home in Morningside, and it is straightforward to park.

Housing

Single detached homes are the main housing type, representing around 40% of dwellings in Morningside, and the remaining dwellings are mainly large apartment buildings and townhouses. This area experienced its largest construction boom in the 1960s and 1970s, so most of the available housing stock is from this era. This part of Toronto also has a good variety of unit sizes; homes range from lofts to four or more bedrooms. Homeowners occupy about 60% of the dwellings in the neighbourhood and 40% are rented.

Services

It is a rather short walk to get to both primary and secondary schools from any location in Morningside. On the other hand, parents may find it very hard for their kids to reach daycares as a pedestrian. In terms of food, the closest supermarket in this area is usually only a reasonably short walk away. In addition, a restaurant is commonly just around the corner, and a small number of cafes can be found as well.
