Mount Pleasant is a "jack-of-all-trades" when it comes to the feel of this neighbourhood. Finding things to do in this part of the city is very easy. A broad selection of entertainment venues can be found nearby, there are often a very large number of people around, and with its approximately 20 bars, it is very easy to find a place to grab a drink because they are generally located very close by. Mount Pleasant is reasonably quiet overall, as noise from streets and other parts of the city is rarely an issue. This area does not necessitate use of a car as several other means of transportation are accessible. In contrast, driving is a rather poor mode of transportation in this neighbourhood since it is challenging to park, and nearby highways are not very easy to access from any home in Mount Pleasant.

Housing

Around 60% of the population of this neighbourhood rent their home and owners make up the remainder. In this part of the city, about 55% of dwellings are small apartment buildings, whereas the rest are mainly large apartment buildings. About one third of properties in this neighbourhood were constructed following the year 2000, while most of the remaining buildings were constructed pre-1960 and in the 1960s. Notably, this area is good for those looking for one bedroom homes.

Families will appreciate that no matter where their house is located in Mount Pleasant, schools and daycares are nearby. Residents have the choice between public and private elementary schools. In terms of food, it is very often possible for property owners in Mount Pleasant to buy general and specialty groceries on foot. Moreover, owing to 200-odd restaurants and cafes in this part of the city, there is almost always a place to get some food or drink just around the corner, for example on Main Street.
