Norgate is a fairly good neighbourhood to buy a house in for those who prefer a calm environment. This area is reasonably quiet, as the streets are generally peaceful - however noise can be an issue around the railway line. Lastly, there are approximately 10 green spaces nearby for residents to explore and they are very well-situated, making them very easy to reach from the majority of locations in this part of North Vancouver.


This neighbourhood will attract active house buyers since it is convenient for those who travel by foot; many daily errands can be run without the use of a car. However, Norgate is not very cycling-friendly since there are a fair number of slopes to challenge cyclists, and the bicycling network is somewhat poor. Moving around by car is very convenient in this part of the municipality. The majority of houses for sale are a rather short drive from the nearest highway, and it is straightforward to park. In contrast, public transit riders may experience few choices in Norgate due to the low service level. Thankfully, the neighbourhood is served by a few bus lines, and bus stops are typically close by.


In Norgate, roughly half of dwellings are single detached homes, but large apartment buildings and small apartment buildings are also present in the housing stock. About 40% of properties in this area were constructed pre-1960, while many of the remaining buildings were built in the 1960s and the 1990s. This part of the municipality has a good selection of unit sizes, ranging from lofts to four or more bedrooms. Around 70% of the units in the neighbourhood are occupied by homeowners and renters occupy the remainder.


Families will value that wherever their house is located in this area, daycares and primary schools are nearby. However, there are no high schools in this neighbourhood. With respect to food, it is usually an option for home buyers in Norgate to shop for their groceries by walking. Likewise, there are a fair number of choices for those who care about nearby restaurants and cafes. It is also a reasonably short distance to a good selection of clothing stores.
