North Arm South offers a vast selection of green spaces to enjoy. There are a few public green spaces nearby for residents to check out and they are especially well-distributed, resulting in them being easy to get to from the majority of locations within the neighbourhood. It is relatively calm in this part of the city, as there are very few people out and about on the streets.


Cars are an excellent transportation option in this area. It is very easy to park, and it is a short drive to the closest highway from any location in North Arm South. However, travelling by transit can be occasionally challenging in this part of the city due to the low service level. Thankfully, there are a few bus lines traversing the neighbourhood, and bus stops are not very far-removed from most properties. North Arm South is not very conducive to walking since very few common errands can be run without having to resort to a car. The bicycle is a rather poor mode of transportation in this area as the bicycling network is not very comprehensive, and there are a fair number of elevation changes.


In North Arm South, about one third of buildings are small apartment buildings, whereas the rest are mainly duplexes, single detached homes, and townhouses. This part of New Westminster experienced its main construction boom after the year 2000, so most of the available housing stock is from this era. This area is primarily composed of three bedroom and two bedroom homes. Homeowners occupy around three quarters of the units in the neighbourhood whereas renters occupy the remainder.


A fraction of home buyers in this part of the city may be able to buy groceries by walking, while others will have to rely on a vehicle. There are also around 20 restaurants and coffee shops in this area. Furthermore, residents can find a good number of nearby clothing stores. With respect to education, families will value the proximity to both primary and secondary schools, which are within walking distance from most properties for sale in North Arm South. On the other hand, daycares are not especially numerous and accordingly may require a long walk to get to.
