North Slope is a very good neighbourhood to buy a home in for those who prefer a relaxed ambience. This area is very quiet, as there isn't a lot of street noise or city clamour. Finally, public green spaces, like Sealand Park, are especially well-situated and there are about 30 of them close by for residents to unwind in, which makes it easy to get to them.
Driving is very often the favoured transportation option in North Slope. It is very convenient to park. However, this part of Nanaimo is not very transit friendly. Thankfully, residents are served by a few bus lines, and bus stops are usually a short walk away. It is challenging for pedestrians to get around in this part of the city since very few common errands can be run without the use of a vehicle.
The homes in this part of the city are very new, since around 30% of its buildings were constructed following the year 2000, while most of the remaining buildings were built in the 1960s and the 1980s. In this area, many dwellings are single detached homes, but duplexes are also present in the housing stock. Homeowners occupy around 85% of the dwellings in the neighbourhood whereas the rest are rented. This part of the city offers mainly three bedroom and four or more bedroom homes.
It is a rather short walk to reach primary schools from most properties for sale in North Slope. In contrast, there are no high schools in North Slope. In terms of eating, in all but a very small number of cases, a car is required in this area to reach the closest supermarket.
