Lastly, parks are very well-spread out and there are a few of them nearby for residents to explore, which results in them being very easy to access from the majority of locations in Parkdale.


Owing to a few nearby bus lines, Parkdale is quite transit friendly. Most houses for sale in this area are located in places that are not particularly convenient for walking as few day-to-day errands can be run without having to use a car. Although bicycling is facilitated by the generally flat terrain, Parkdale is not very amenable to biking since. However, driving is a great transportation option in this neighbourhood. It is easy to access a place to park, and it is a short drive to the closest highway from anywhere in Parkdale.


Single detached homes are the most common housing type, representing roughly one quarter of dwellings in Parkdale, but large apartment buildings, small apartment buildings, and duplexes are also present in the housing stock. Around one quarter of properties in this neighbourhood were built in the 1960s and 1970s, while most of the remaining buildings were constructed pre-1960 and in the 1980s. This area offers mainly four or more bedroom and two bedroom homes. About two thirds of the properties in the neighbourhood are occupied by homeowners while the rest are rented.


Both primary and secondary schools are straightforward to reach on foot from most homes for sale in Parkdale. Parents are served by public and private schools at both the primary and secondary school level. However, daycares are not very numerous and accordingly not always within walking distance. As far as eating is concerned, doing one's groceries very often requires the use of a car in Parkdale. Nonetheless, pharmacies are generally easy to get to on foot and supply some staple foods. There are a fair number of opportunities for those who appreciate nearby restaurants and cafes. A decent selection of clothing stores can also be found within a reasonably short walking distance.
