On the other hand, commuting by transit can be challenging in West Vancouver due to the infrequent service. Nevertheless, homeowners benefit from about 10 bus lines, and bus stops are not very far away from most residences. Even though certain pleasant sectors for bicycling can be found, this municipality is not very bike-friendly as this municipality has a quite bad cycling infrastructure, and riding is made strenuous by the typically hilly topography. It is also impractical for people travelling on foot to move around in West Vancouver as running common errands is challenging.

This municipality is primarily composed of three bedroom and four or more bedroom homes. Homeowners occupy roughly three quarters of the units in the municipality and the rest are rented. Residents are served by public and private schools at both the primary and secondary school level. Moreover, West Vancouver is served by some of the province's top schools, such as Collingwood School.
