Rural Saanich is very good for those who prefer quiet areas, as there isn't a lot of street noise or city clamour. Parks are distributed sporadically, making it occasionally difficult to access them. Still, there are approximately 20 public green spaces close by for residents to explore.

Transportation

Cars are an excellent medium of transportation in this part of Saanich. It is very easy to park. However, residents using public transit may experience very few choices in this part of Saanich due to the low service level. Nonetheless, there are about 20 bus lines passing through the neighbourhood, and most properties are near a bus stop. Many of the houses for sale in this area are located in places that are not very suitable for walking as meeting daily needs is very impractical on foot.

Housing

Single detached homes are the predominant housing type, representing most dwellings in Rural Saanich, and the rest of the dwellings are mainly duplexes. This neighbourhood has a good selection of housing sizes, ranging from lofts to four or more bedrooms. Around three quarters of the population of this neighbourhood own their home whereas renters make up the remainder. About 30% of properties in this area were built in the 1960s and 1970s, while most of the remaining buildings were built pre-1960 and in the 1980s.

Services

There are only a few primary schools in this area and accordingly they can be an extended walk away. Furthermore, Rural Saanich does not contain any high schools. Moreover, there are only a very small number of daycares and consequently they can be a very long walk away. At the elementary level, both public and private schools can be found. With regards to eating, getting to the closest supermarket on foot is possible for some, but not all, house buyers in Rural Saanich. There are also a few opportunities for those who value close by restaurants.
