Most areas in this neighbourhood are quiet, as there are usually low levels of noise from traffic - however some parts can be quite loud, especially around Trans-Canada Highway.

Transportation

Driving is an excellent transportation option in Sentinel Hill. Parking is easy, and most real estate listings are a short car ride from the closest highway, such as Trans-Canada Highway. On the other hand, public transit users may experience limited options in this part of the municipality as a result of the low service level. Nonetheless, homeowners are served by a few bus lines, and bus stops are ordinarily nearby. The bike is a rather limited method of transportation in Sentinel Hill as the cycling network is not very well-developed, and bike riders encounter a significant amount of slopes. Thankfully, biking is more practical in certain pockets than others. A majority of the houses for sale in this part of the municipality are located in places that are also not particularly convenient for walking because few common errands can be run on foot.

Housing

In Sentinel Hill, most buildings are single detached homes, whereas the remainder are mainly large apartment buildings and duplexes. About half of homes in this part of West Vancouver were built pre-1960, while many of the remaining buildings were built in the 1960s and the 2000s. This neighbourhood offers mainly three bedroom and four or more bedroom homes. Homeowners occupy roughly 85% of the dwellings in Sentinel Hill whereas renters occupy the remainder.

Services

The nearest supermarket in Sentinel Hill is generally only a reasonably short walk away. Likewise, a restaurant is often just around the corner, and a limited selection of coffee shops is available as well. In terms of education, primary schools and daycares are easy to access on foot from anywhere in Sentinel Hill. However, there are no high schools in Sentinel Hill.
