Sentinel Hill real estate guide & listings for sale

Sentinel Hill is a reasonably good neighbourhood to buy a home in for those who prefer a relaxed ambience. It is very easy to reach green spaces since there are a few of them nearby for residents to visit. This neighbourhood is reasonably quiet overall, as there tend to be low levels of noise from traffic - however some parts can be quite loud, especially closer to Trans-Canada Highway.

Transportation

Driving is a great medium of transportation in Sentinel Hill. Nearby highways, such as Trans-Canada Highway, are very easy to access from anywhere in this part of West Vancouver, and it is especially convenient to park. On the other hand, travelling by transit can be sometimes challenging in Sentinel Hill by reason of the service's low frequency. Thankfully, there are a few bus lines traversing the neighbourhood, and most residences are very close to a bus stop. This part of the municipality is not very amenable to bicycling since there are quite a few elevation changes, and the cycling infrastructure is not very well-developed. Nonetheless, a few pleasant pockets for cycling exist. Walking is also not particularly practical for residents in this part of West Vancouver because many daily needs are at times challenging to carry out by walking.

Housing

Over half of the housing stock of Sentinel Hill consists of large apartment buildings and single detached homes, and the rest of the properties are mainly duplexes. Around one third of properties in this part of West Vancouver were constructed pre-1960, while many of the remaining buildings were constructed in the 1960s and the 2000s. This neighbourhood offers mainly two bedroom and four or more bedroom homes. Homeowners occupy about 55% of the properties in Sentinel Hill and renters occupy the remainder.

Services

House buyers in Sentinel Hill will be pleased to learn that a grocery store is always only a rather short walk away. There are also a limited number of opportunities for those who appreciate restaurants and cafes within walking distance. With respect to education, in Sentinel Hill, parents and their kids will typically be able to reach daycares and primary schools on foot. In contrast, this part of the municipality does not contain any high schools.
