Shaughnessy is a fairly good neighbourhood to buy a home in for those who prefer a relaxed environment. The noise levels in this area are low, as the streets tend to be reasonably calm. Finally, there are a few parks close by for residents to explore, making them very easy to access.

Transportation

Shaughnessy will attract homeowners that value a variety of modes of transportation. Walking is feasible for house buyers in Shaughnessy; running day-to-day errands is convenient, and plenty of businesses are close by. Shaughnessy is also quite amenable to biking since the cycling infrastructure is good. Owing to a few nearby bus lines, residents can rely on public transit to move around in this part of the city. Shaughnessy is also reasonably car friendly. Accessing a place to park is generally easy.

Housing

Single detached homes are the most common housing type, representing about two thirds of dwellings in Shaughnessy, while small apartment buildings and duplexes are the main alternatives in the housing stock. Families will find that no matter where their house is located in Shaughnessy, schools and daycares are close by. Besides public schools, there are private primary and secondary schools. Furthermore, Shaughnessy has some of the province's highest-ranked schools, such as York House School and Little Flower Academy. With regards to eating, a general and a specialty grocery store is always only a short walk away in Shaughnessy. Additionally, there are about 20 restaurants and a few cafes to experience in Shaughnessy. It is also a reasonably short walk to a decent choice of clothing stores.
