Cars are an excellent transportation option in this area. It is straightforward to park. However, travelling by public transit is difficult in Shuniah. Nevertheless, there are a few bus lines, and it is straightforward to reach a nearby bus stop from most properties. Many of the homes for sale in this part of the city are located in areas that are not very conducive to those who travel by foot since running common errands is inconvenient by walking.


In Shuniah, around 70% of dwellings are single detached homes, while the remainder are mainly small apartment buildings. This part of the city has a good selection of unit sizes, ranging from lofts to four or more bedrooms. Around three quarters of the units in the neighbourhood are occupied by homeowners while renters occupy the remainder. The homes in this neighbourhood are quite old, since roughly half of its dwellings were constructed before the 1960s, while most of the remaining buildings were built in the 1960s.


It is a reasonably short walk to reach primary schools from any location in Shuniah. However, this part of Thunder Bay does not have any high schools. As far as eating is concerned, it is rarely feasible for property owners in Shuniah to reach the nearest grocery store by walking. There are a few options for those who value restaurants within walking distance.
