Despite the somewhat busy feel, there are a lot of green spaces to enjoy in South Central. There are a few parks nearby for residents to explore and they are especially well-spread out, which results in them being easy to access from the majority of locations in the neighbourhood. This part of Peterborough is relatively quiet, since there are few pedestrians, although there can be higher levels of noise for those who are near the railway line.

Residents can find a good number of clothing stores within walking distance. Concerning education, parents and their schoolchildren will appreciate that no matter where their home is situated in this neighbourhood, primary schools and daycares are nearby. However, South Central does not contain any high schools.
