South Hill is quiet overall, as noise from the streets and other parts of the city is rarely an issue.
The car is usually the favoured method of transportation in this part of the city. The majority of homes for sale are a short drive from the closest highway, and it is very easy to park. Walking is not particularly practical for property owners in this part of Red Deer because many daily needs are occasionally difficult to carry out without the use of a car.
Around 45% of properties in South Hill were built in the 1960s and 1970s, while the majority of the remaining buildings were built pre-1960 and in the 1980s. In this area, about two thirds of dwellings are small apartment buildings, and the rest of the homes are mainly townhouses. It is very easy to get to the nearest supermarket by walking from most properties for sale in South Hill. Likewise, this area is a fairly good place in which to go out to eat or go to a cafe. It is also a rather short distance to a decent selection of clothing stores. Regarding education, South Hill does not have any high schools or primary schools. In addition, daycares are not plentiful and accordingly tend to require a very long walk to get to.
