The character of Town Centre is exemplified by its relaxed environment. The noise levels in this part of the city are low, as the streets are usually quite calm - although there are still several louder areas, especially around the railway line. Lastly, public green spaces are very well-situated and there are about 10 of them close by for residents to relax in, which makes them easy to access from the majority of locations within Town Centre.

Transportation

It is easy for people walking to move around in this part of Maple Ridge, although common amenities such as post offices or banks can be an occasionally long walk away. In contrast, Town Centre is not particularly conducive to biking as there is a considerable amount of elevation changes, and the bicycling network is not especially well-developed. Public transit users may have limited options in this part of Maple Ridge as a result of the infrequent service. Nevertheless, homeowners profit from the Port Haney Station on the West Coast Express Line. The neighbourhood is served by a few bus lines, and most properties are very close to a bus stop. However, driving is very often the favoured transportation option in Town Centre. It is a rather short car ride to the closest highway from any home in Town Centre, and parking is generally easy.

Housing

Small apartment buildings are the most common housing type, representing roughly 45% of buildings in Town Centre, while the remainder are mainly large apartment buildings. This part of the city offers mainly one bedroom and two bedroom homes. Homeowners occupy roughly 60% of the properties in the neighbourhood whereas renters occupy the remainder. Roughly one third of homes in this neighbourhood were constructed following the year 2000, while many of the remaining buildings were built in the 1960s and the 1980s.

Services

The closest grocery store in this neighbourhood is typically only a short walk away. Additionally, there is commonly a restaurant or cafe in close proximity. It is also a rather short distance to a decent selection of clothing stores. Concerning education, daycares and schools are easy to walk to from most properties for sale in this neighbourhood. Families are served by public and private primary schools.
