Getting to public green spaces is easy from the majority of locations within the neighbourhood since there are a few of them nearby for residents to visit. This part of the city is also quiet, as there tend to be low levels of noise from traffic - however some areas can be quite noisy, especially near Trans-Canada Highway.


Commuting by car is especially convenient in UDistrict. It is a very short drive to the nearest highway, such as Trans-Canada Highway, from any location in this neighbourhood, and coming across a place to park is generally easy. On the other hand, public transit users may find few choices in this part of the city due to the infrequent service. Nonetheless, the neighbourhood is served by a few bus lines, and most properties are very close to a bus stop. It is difficult for people travelling on foot to get around in UDistrict as few daily errands can be run without having to resort to a vehicle.


Small apartment buildings are the main housing type, representing roughly 30% of dwellings in UDistrict, whereas the remainder are mainly duplexes, single detached homes, and townhouses. This neighbourhood also has a selection of housing size options - there is a higher proportion of two bedroom homes in this part of the city. Homeowners occupy roughly 70% of the dwellings in UDistrict whereas the remainder are rented. This area did not experience a single building boom; the construction of new buildings in UDistrict was spread throughout multiple decades in recent history.


Home buyers in UDistrict often have to rely on a vehicle to do their groceries. Nevertheless, pharmacies are typically convenient to access on foot and sell some basic food items. A small selection of restaurants and cafes can be found as well. Regarding education, parents and their children will appreciate that no matter where their home is situated in UDistrict, primary schools are nearby. In contrast, UDistrict does not contain any high schools.
