Transportation

The preferred approach to navigate this part of the city is usually driving. It is a reasonably short car ride to the closest highway from anywhere in University, and coming across a place to park is generally easy. On the other hand, the public transit service in this part of the city is not particularly frequent. Nonetheless, property owners benefit from approximately 10 bus lines, and it is very easy to reach a nearby bus stop from most residences. University is not very conducive to walking as running daily errands is difficult.

Housing

In University, many buildings are single detached homes, but small apartment buildings and townhouses are also present in the housing stock. This part of the city is primarily composed of two bedroom and three bedroom homes. Roughly 80% of the population of this neighbourhood own their home whereas the rest are renters. This neighbourhood did not experience a single building boom; the construction of new dwellings in University was spread throughout multiple decades in recent history.

Services

Secondary schools are easy to access on foot from most properties for sale in University. On the other hand, there are no primary schools in this part of Winnipeg. With respect to eating, some, but not all, house buyers in University will reside within walking distance of the nearest supermarket. A small variety of restaurants and coffee shops is available.
