Uptown is a reasonably good neighbourhood to buy a home in for those who prefer a relaxed atmosphere. There are a few green spaces nearby for residents to visit and they are very well-distributed, resulting in them being easy to get to from a large number of locations within this part of the city. This area is also good for those who prefer a quiet atmosphere, as the streets tend to be quite peaceful - although that is not the case closer to the railway line.

Transportation

The favoured mode of transportation in Uptown is very often a car. It is very easy to park, and the majority of houses for sale are a reasonably short drive from the nearest highway. In contrast, Uptown is not very transit friendly. Nonetheless, the neighbourhood is linked by a few bus lines, and bus stops are not very far away from most residences. Uptown is not especially well-suited for walking as many daily needs are sometimes challenging to carry out without the use of a car. However, it is convenient to commute by bicycle in Uptown as there are numerous bike lanes.

Housing

Most of the housing growth in Uptown has occurred following the year 2000. In this area, many dwellings are townhouses, while the rest are mainly large apartment buildings and small apartment buildings. About 80% of the properties in the neighbourhood are occupied by homeowners and renters occupy the remainder. This area also has a good choice of housing size options - there is a higher proportion of three bedroom homes in this part of Burlington.

Services

Parents and their kids will find that no matter where their property is situated in Uptown, schools and daycares are nearby. With respect to food, a grocery store is generally reachable within a reasonably short walk from any home in this part of the city. Moreover, there is commonly a restaurant or cafe just around the corner.
