There is a wide variety of green spaces in Valleyview. There are a few parks nearby for residents to enjoy and they are very well-situated, resulting in them being easy to reach from a large number of locations in Valleyview. This neighbourhood remains relatively quiet, as there are very few pedestrians.
Driving is an excellent medium of transportation in Valleyview. Many properties for sale are a very short car ride from the nearest highway, such as Trans-Canada Highway, and coming across a parking spot is quite easy. However, commuting by public transit is challenging in Valleyview. Thankfully, there are a few bus lines, and bus stops are ordinarily nearby. Valleyview is not very suitable for walking because running daily errands is inconvenient on foot.
In Valleyview, about 55% of dwellings are single detached homes, while small apartment buildings and townhouses are the main alternatives in the housing stock. This part of Kamloops has a good variety of housing size options, ranging from lofts to four or more bedrooms. Roughly 70% of the population of this neighbourhood own their home whereas the remainder are renters. Roughly half of the homes in this area were constructed in the 1960s and 1970s, while many of the remaining buildings were constructed pre-1960 and in the 1990s.
Accessing the closest supermarket by walking is practical for some, but not all, property owners in Valleyview. A small number of restaurants and coffee shops can be found as well. With respect to education, parents and their schoolchildren may consider it difficult to reach high schools and primary schools on foot. In addition, daycares are not especially abundant and consequently not always within walking distance.
