It is easy to get to green spaces, since reaching one from the majority of properties is occasionally difficult and there are a few parks nearby for residents to relax in. As there are very few people out and about on the streets, this part of the city remains relatively quiet.

Transportation

The preferred method to navigate this part of Kamloops is usually a car. Nearby highways, such as Trans-Canada Highway, are very easy to drive to from anywhere in Valleyview, and it is very convenient to park. On the other hand, public transit users may have limited options in this area as a result of the low service level. Nevertheless, residents are served by a few bus lines, and most homes are very close to a bus stop. Travelling on foot is not very convenient for house buyers in Valleyview as very few daily needs can be carried out by walking.

Housing

About 70% of the properties in the neighbourhood are occupied by homeowners and 30% are rented. Single detached homes are the predominant housing type, representing the majority of buildings in this area, while small apartment buildings and townhouses are also present in the housing stock. Most of the housing growth in this area took place in the 1960s and 1970s. This part of the city has a good selection of unit sizes, ranging from lofts to four or more bedrooms.

Services

Some, but not all, property owners in Valleyview will reside within walking distance of the nearest supermarket. Residents are served by around 10 restaurants and coffee shops as well. Concerning education, high schools and primary schools are not very abundant in Valleyview, and thus tend to require an extended walk to get to. Moreover, parents may find it challenging for their children to access daycares as a pedestrian.
