Vars is fairly good for those who enjoy a quiet atmosphere, as noise from the streets and other parts of the city is rarely an issue - although there are still several noisier sections, especially close to the railway line or Highway 417. Green spaces aren't well-distributed, resulting in them being rather difficult to reach from the majority of locations in the neighbourhood. Still, there are a few parks close by for residents to discover.

Transportation

Vars is especially car friendly. It is very easy to access a parking spot. However, the public transit network in Vars is not very practical. Nonetheless, there are a few bus lines passing through the neighbourhood. The bicycle is a fairly poor means of transportation in this part of the city since there are few bike lanes, and there are a fair number of elevation changes for cyclists to brave. It is also very difficult for pedestrians to move around in Vars as running common errands is very inconvenient on foot.

Housing

In Vars, the vast majority of dwellings are single detached homes, whereas the rest are mainly large apartment buildings. This area offers mainly four or more bedroom and three bedroom homes. Homeowners occupy around 85% of the dwellings in Vars and renters occupy the remainder. Roughly one quarter of properties in this neighbourhood were constructed following the year 2000, while many of the remaining buildings were built pre-1960 and in the 1960s.

Services

There are only a very small number of primary schools in Vars and thus they can be a very long walk away. Additionally, this part of the city does not contain any high schools. Additionally, daycares are not numerous and consequently tend to require a very long walk to get to. Concerning eating, house buyers in this neighbourhood almost always have to rely on a vehicle to travel to the nearest supermarket.
