Victoria Square real estate guide & listings for sale
The character of Victoria Square is exemplified by its calm atmosphere. This part of Markham is reasonably quiet, as there isn't a lot of street noise or city clamour - although that is not the case closer to Highway 404. Lastly, there are a few parks close by for residents to enjoy, which makes it easy to reach them from most locations in the neighbourhood.
Victoria Square is especially car friendly. Parking is easy, and the majority of properties for sale are a reasonably short car ride from the closest highway, such as Highway 404. On the other hand, the public transit service in Victoria Square is not very frequent. Thankfully, property owners have access to a few bus lines, and bus stops are not particularly far-removed from most properties. This neighbourhood is not very cycling-friendly since there are a good number of hills for cyclists to brave, and the bicycling network is rather limited. Many of the houses for sale in this neighbourhood are located in places that are also not very convenient for walking as almost no common errands can be run without having to resort to a vehicle.
Single detached homes and townhouses are the main housing type in Victoria Square. Notably, this area is good for those looking for four or more bedroom homes. Around 90% of the units in the neighbourhood are occupied by homeowners while the rest are rented. Most of the housing growth in this neighbourhood has occurred following the year 2000.
In vast majority cases, a car is needed to buy groceries. A small selection of coffee shops is available as well. Regarding education, Victoria Square does not contain any high schools or primary schools. Additionally, it can be very hard to reach daycares on foot.
