West Ladner is a very good neighbourhood to buy a home in for those who prefer a calm environment. This area is very quiet, as there tend to be low levels of noise from traffic. Finally, it is easy to access parks from the majority of locations within the neighbourhood since there are about 10 of them nearby for residents to relax in.
Driving is a very good transportation option in this part of Delta. It is very easy to park. However, the public transit network in this part of Delta is not very practical. Nonetheless, there are a few bus lines traversing the neighbourhood, and it is very easy to reach a nearby bus stop from most properties. This neighbourhood is not very well-suited for walking as carrying out daily needs is challenging. The bicycle is a rather poor means of transportation in this part of the municipality since bike riders are faced with quite a few slopes, and West Ladner has a fairly poor cycling infrastructure.
Around two thirds of the properties in the neighbourhood are occupied by homeowners and one third are rented. In this part of the municipality, about 40% of dwellings are single detached homes, whereas the remainder are mainly small apartment buildings and duplexes. This neighbourhood experienced its largest construction boom in the 1960s and 1970s, so most of the available housing is from this time period. This neighbourhood has a good variety of housing size options, ranging from lofts to four or more bedrooms.
A supermarket is ordinarily reachable within a rather short walk from any location in this area. A small variety of restaurants and cafes is available as well. When it comes to education, it is a reasonably short walk to access schools and daycares from most houses for sale in this neighbourhood.
