Westfort is good for those who prefer quiet areas, as noise from the streets and other parts of the city is rarely an issue - although there are still several louder sections, especially closer to one of the railway lines.

Transportation

The car is usually the preferred method of transportation in Westfort. Coming across a parking spot is generally easy. In contrast, Westfort is not very transit friendly. Thankfully, house owners are served by a few bus lines, and bus stops are not very far-removed from most properties. Most homes for sale in this part of the city are located in areas that are not very convenient for those who travel by foot because most daily needs are difficult to meet by walking.

Housing

About 70% of the properties in the neighbourhood are occupied by homeowners and 30% are occupied by renters. Single detached homes are the most common housing type, representing around 70% of dwellings in this part of the city, and the rest are mainly small apartment buildings. A majority of the housing growth in this area occurred pre-1960. This neighbourhood offers mainly two bedroom and three bedroom homes.

Services

Getting to the nearest supermarket by walking is an option for some, but not all, house buyers in this neighbourhood. Residents are served by about 30 restaurants and cafes as well. With regards to education, high schools and primary schools are not especially abundant in Westfort, and consequently not always within walking distance. Moreover, it can be very difficult to access daycares on foot.
