People who prefer a relaxed ambience will enjoy Aberdeen. The noise levels in this part of Kamloops are very low, as the streets are very calm. Finally, green spaces, including Pacific Way Park and Gleneagles Park, are very well-spread out and there are approximately 30 of them close by for residents to discover, resulting in them being easy to reach from most locations in Aberdeen.

Transportation

Cars are a great medium of transportation in Aberdeen. It is a rather short car ride to the closest highway, such as Trans-Canada Highway, from anywhere in this neighbourhood, and it is very easy to find a place to park. On the other hand, Aberdeen is not very transit friendly. Nonetheless, the neighbourhood is linked by approximately 10 bus lines, and bus stops are not very far away from most houses. It is difficult for people walking to get around in this part of Kamloops as very few daily errands can be run without a car. Aberdeen is also not particularly conducive to biking since there is a significant amount of elevation changes, and the bicycling infrastructure is somewhat poor.

Housing

In Aberdeen, about 60% of dwellings are single detached homes, while small apartment buildings are also present in the housing stock. This neighbourhood offers mainly three bedroom and four or more bedroom homes. Homeowners occupy about 80% of the units in Aberdeen whereas the rest are rented. The homes in this neighbourhood are very new, since roughly one third of its dwellings were constructed after the year 2000, while many of the remaining buildings were constructed in the 1960s and the 1980s.

Services

Doing one's groceries often requires the use of a vehicle in Aberdeen. A small number of restaurants and cafes can be found as well. With regards to education, families will appreciate that no matter where their property is situated in this part of the city, daycares and primary schools are nearby. In contrast, Aberdeen does not have any high schools.
