Allard is a great neighbourhood to buy a house in for those who prefer a calm ambience. It is easy to get to green spaces, since most properties have one close by and there are a few parks nearby for residents to relax in. This part of Edmonton is very quiet overall, as there tend to be low levels of noise from traffic.

Transportation

Allard is a very good part of Edmonton for moving around by car. It is very easy to access a place to park. In contrast, Allard is not an especially pleasant part of Edmonton for travelling by public transit. Nevertheless, residents benefit from a few bus lines, and bus stops are usually nearby. Most homes for sale in this neighbourhood are located in areas that are not very suitable for walking as carrying out daily needs is very impractical. On the other hand, the bicycle is a fairly good mode of transportation in Allard since bike riders do not face serious elevation changes, and the cycling network is very well-developed.

In Allard, roughly 55% of dwellings are single detached homes, and the remainder are mainly small apartment buildings and townhouses. Most housing in this area was built after the year 2000, during its largest construction boom. This neighbourhood also has a selection of unit sizes - although this neighbourhood is particularly good for those looking for three bedroom homes. Around 80% of the population of this neighbourhood own their home and 20% are renters.

Services

Purchasing one's groceries very often demands the use of a car in Allard. As far as education is concerned, this part of Edmonton does not contain any high schools or primary schools. Furthermore, daycares are not abundant and thus not always within walking distance.
