Bankview is a "jack-of-all-trades" when it comes to the feel of this part of the city. Bankview is very quiet, as the streets tend to be very tranquil. There are a few public green spaces nearby for residents to check out, making them very easy to reach. Finally, overall, this neighbourhood has many places for those looking for a dynamic vibe. Although this part of Calgary is not known for its nightlife, a limited selection of entertainment venues can be found nearby, and there are a large number of people around most of the time.

Transportation

Regardless of the means of transportation, it is easy to get around in this part of Calgary. A majority of the homes for sale in this neighbourhood are located in areas that are quite conducive to walking; most daily needs are convenient to meet on foot, and a good number of businesses of different types can be found as well. However, Bankview is not very appropriate for cycling as. Nonetheless, bike riders do not face significant slopes. This part of the city is a fairly pleasant part of Calgary for travelling by public transit by reason of a few nearby bus lines. Bankview is also quite car friendly as parking isn't generally too difficult.

Housing

Around 40% of properties in Bankview were built in the 1960s and 1970s, while most of the remaining buildings were constructed pre-1960 and in the 1980s. Small apartment buildings are the most common housing type, representing roughly two thirds of dwellings in this area, and the rest are mainly single detached homes. About 70% of the population of this neighbourhood rent their home while owners make up the remainder. This area is primarily composed of two bedroom and one bedroom homes.

Services

It is very easy to reach both a general and a specialty grocery store by walking from any home in Bankview. In addition, with approximately 10 restaurants and a few coffee shops, Bankview is a fairly good area in which to go out to eat. A decent selection of clothing stores is also located within a rather short walking distance. When it comes to education, parents and their kids will welcome that wherever their home is situated in Bankview, schools and daycares are nearby.
