The noise levels in this part of Québec are also low, as there isn't a lot of street noise or city clamour - although that is not the case closer to Autoroute Dufferin-Montmorency, Autoroute Félix-Leclerc or one of the railway lines.
Beauport is an extremely good part of Québec for moving around by car. Nearby highways, such as Autoroute Dufferin-Montmorency, are reasonably easy to drive to from any location in this area, and it is very convenient to park. In contrast, Beauport is not very transit friendly. Nevertheless, the borough is connected by around 30 bus lines, and it is very convenient to get to a nearby bus stop from most houses. This area is not very amenable to biking because the bicycling infrastructure is not especially comprehensive, and there is a considerable amount of slopes. Most homes for sale in this part of the city are located in areas that are also not very convenient for those who travel by foot because many daily needs are inconvenient to meet without having to use a car.
Around 30% of properties in Beauport were built between 1960 and 1980, while most of the remaining buildings were constructed pre-1960 and in the 1980s. In this part of the city, roughly 45% of dwellings are single detached homes, while the rest are mainly small apartment buildings and duplexes. About two thirds of the dwellings in the borough are occupied by homeowners and one third are rented. This borough has a good selection of housing size options, ranging from lofts to four or more bedrooms.
Primary schools are convenient to get to on foot from any location in this part of Québec. On the other hand, parents may consider it difficult for their children to reach high schools as a pedestrian. Besides public schools, there are private primary and secondary schools. With respect to eating, accessing one of around 20 supermarkets on foot is practical for some, but not all, house buyers in Beauport. Residents can enjoy over 100 restaurants and cafes as well.
