Beauport is a fairly good borough to buy a home in for those who prefer a calm environment. This area is quiet, as there isn't a lot of street noise or city clamour - however noise can be an issue closer to Autoroute Félix-Leclerc, Autoroute Dufferin-Montmorency or one of the railway lines. Lastly, there are over 50 parks nearby for residents to enjoy, like Baie de Beauport and Parc de la Famille, making it easy to access them from most locations in the borough.
Beauport is very car friendly. It is straightforward to park, and it is a reasonably short car ride to the nearest highway, such as Autoroute Dufferin-Montmorency, from anywhere in this borough. However, the public transit system in Beauport is not very accessible. Nonetheless, the borough is linked by approximately 30 bus lines, and bus stops are ordinarily nearby. Walking is not very convenient for house buyers in Beauport because very few common errands can be run without the use of a car. Travelling by bicycle is also challenging in this part of the city because there are a limited number of bike lanes, and there is a significant amount of hills.
Homeowners occupy about two thirds of the dwellings in the borough and renters occupy the remainder. Single detached homes are the predominant housing type, representing about 45% of buildings in this borough, while the remainder are mainly small apartment buildings and duplexes. Roughly 30% of properties in this part of the city were constructed in the 1960s and 1970s, while most of the remaining buildings were built pre-1960 and in the 1980s. This borough is primarily composed of three bedroom and two bedroom homes.
In Beauport, families will typically be able to get to primary schools by walking. On the other hand, there are only a few high schools and thus they can be a rather long walk away. Families benefit from public and private schools at both the primary and secondary school level. With respect to eating, getting to one of around 20 supermarkets by walking is an option for some, but not all, house buyers in this borough. Residents are served by over 100 restaurants and coffee shops as well.
