Book offers an extensive selection of green spaces to enjoy. It is easy to get to public green spaces since there are about 10 of them close by for residents to check out. Finally, it is relatively serene in this part of Hamilton, thanks to the presence of very few pedestrians.
Transportation
Driving is a great means of transportation in Book. Most properties for sale are a very short car ride from the closest highway, and it is especially convenient to park. In contrast, Book is not very transit friendly. Nonetheless, there are a few bus lines, and most properties are very close to a bus stop. This part of the city is not very suited for biking as the cycling infrastructure is quite bad. Nonetheless, bicycle riders do not face serious elevation changes. It is also difficult for pedestrians to navigate Book because meeting daily needs is challenging without the need for a car.
Housing
About two thirds of the population of this neighbourhood own their home and one third are renters. The predominant housing types in this area are single detached homes and townhouses. A majority of the housing growth in this part of the city took place pre-1960. This area is primarily composed of four or more bedroom and three bedroom homes.
Services
Parents and their kids will appreciate that no matter where their property is located in Book, daycares are close by. On the other hand, there are only a few high schools in this part of Hamilton and accordingly they can be a rather long walk away. Additionally, Book does not contain any primary schools. Concerning food, it is sometimes practical for property owners in Book to shop for groceries as pedestrians. A small selection of restaurants and cafes can be found as well.
