Brookhaven is a neighbourhood to buy a house in for those who prefer a chill environment. As there are very few pedestrians, Brookhaven is relatively quiet.

Transportation

Driving is an excellent mode of transportation in this part of Mount Pearl. It is a very short car ride to the closest highway from anywhere in Brookhaven, and finding a parking spot is easy. On the other hand, the public transit access in Brookhaven is fairly poor. Nonetheless, property owners are served by a few bus lines, and it is very convenient to find a nearby bus stop from most homes. Walking is not especially practical for residents in Brookhaven because few common errands can be run without a car. However, this part of the city is reasonably appropriate for bicycling.

Housing

Duplexes are the most common housing type, representing many dwellings in Brookhaven, whereas the remainder are mainly single detached homes. This area has a good selection of unit sizes, ranging from lofts to four or more bedrooms. About two thirds of the population of this neighbourhood own their home and the remainder are renters. Roughly 45% of properties in this part of Mount Pearl were built in the 1990s, while many of the remaining buildings were constructed in the 1960s and the 2000s.

Services

Property owners in Brookhaven will appreciate that a grocery store is always only a rather short stroll away. Residents of Brookhaven benefit from about 10 restaurants as well. In addition, it is a rather short distance to a decent choice of clothing stores. When it comes to education, daycares are especially convenient to access without a car from anywhere in this part of Mount Pearl. In contrast, there are only a few high schools in Brookhaven and therefore they can be an extended trip away. Moreover, this part of the city does not have any primary schools.
