Brookside is a great neighbourhood to buy a house in for those who prefer a relaxed environment. This area is especially quiet overall, as there are usually low levels of noise from traffic. Finally, there is not much greenery in this neighbourhood; although, there are about 10 public green spaces nearby for residents to visit and they are very well-distributed, which makes it very easy to get to them.

Transportation

Driving is a fairly good transportation option in Brookside. It is easy to access a parking spot. Brookside also benefits from a good public transit network as a result of approximately 10 nearby bus lines. It is sometimes difficult to move around by bike in this area since there are a fair number of slopes to challenge cyclists, and the bicycling infrastructure is not very comprehensive. This part of Toronto is also not very suitable for people who get around on foot as carrying out daily needs is inconvenient without a vehicle.

Housing

A majority of the housing growth in Brookside has happened after the year 2000. Single detached homes are the most common housing type, representing most dwellings in this neighbourhood, and the remainder are mainly townhouses. Homeowners occupy about 90% of the properties in the neighbourhood and 10% are occupied by renters. There is a higher proportion of four or more bedroom homes in this area.

Services

Parents and their schoolchildren will appreciate the proximity to daycares and primary schools, which are within walking distance from the majority of homes for sale in this neighbourhood. However, Brookside does not contain any high schools. When it comes to food, the nearest supermarket in Brookside is typically only a rather long stroll away. Moreover, this area is a good place in which to eat out, and residents can enjoy a few cafes as well.
