This neighbourhood is especially quiet overall, as noise from streets and other parts of the city is rarely an issue.

Transportation

Cadboro Bay is very car friendly. It is very convenient to park. On the other hand, this part of Saanich is not very transit friendly. Nonetheless, the neighbourhood is linked by a few bus lines, and bus stops are not very far away from most residences. It is challenging for people walking to navigate this part of the municipality since very few daily needs can be met without having to use a vehicle.

Housing

Roughly one third of homes in Cadboro Bay were built before the 1960s, while many of the remaining buildings were constructed in the 1960s and the 1980s. Single detached homes are the main housing type, representing around 70% of dwellings in this area, while the rest are mainly small apartment buildings and duplexes. About 85% of the units in the neighbourhood are occupied by homeowners and 15% are rented. This part of the municipality offers mainly three bedroom and four or more bedroom homes.

Services

A portion of house buyers in this part of the municipality may be able to reach the closest supermarket on foot, while others will need another means of transportation. There are also a few opportunities for those who value restaurants and cafes in close proximity. As far as education is concerned, there are only a limited number of primary schools in this part of Saanich and thus they can be a rather long walk away. Likewise, Cadboro Bay does not have any high schools. Moreover, daycares are not numerous and consequently not always within walking distance.
