Callingwood South is a fairly good neighbourhood to buy a home in for those who prefer a calm ambience. Parks are very easy to reach since there are a few of them close by for residents to visit. This neighbourhood is reasonably quiet overall, as there isn't a lot of street noise or city clamour.


Callingwood South is quite bicycling-friendly as there are a limited number of elevation changes to challenge cyclists, and there are countless bike lanes. Most homes for sale in this neighbourhood are located in areas that are also quite conducive to those who travel by foot, although day-to-day errands are at times challenging to run without the use of a vehicle. Getting around by public transit is at times difficult in this part of the city. Nevertheless, property owners are served by a few bus lines, and bus stops are generally nearby. However, commuting by car is very convenient in Callingwood South. Accessing a parking spot is generally easy, and it is a reasonably short drive to the closest highway from any location in this part of the city.


The majority of dwellings are small apartment buildings, making it easy to find apartments in Callingwood South, and the remaining homes are mainly large apartment buildings and townhouses. This neighbourhood is primarily composed of one bedroom and two bedroom homes. About three quarters of the dwellings in the neighbourhood are occupied by renters and the rest are occupied by owners. Roughly 45% of homes in this part of Edmonton were constructed in the 1960s and 1970s, while the majority of the remaining buildings were built in the 1980s and the 1990s.


A grocery store is ordinarily accessible within a very short walk from most properties for sale in this part of Edmonton. Furthermore, there are a good number of options in close proximity for those who value restaurants and cafes. A good selection of clothing stores is also situated within a reasonably short walking distance. With regards to education, schools and daycares are very easy to access on foot from most homes for sale in this part of the city.
