Transportation

Driving is a very good transportation option in Canals. Parking is generally easy. However, the transit system in Canals is fairly poor. Thankfully, the neighbourhood is linked by a few bus lines, and bus stops are typically around the corner. A majority of the homes for sale in this part of the city are located in places that are not particularly well-suited for pedestrians as few common errands can be run without the need for a car. In contrast, biking is easy in Canals as the bicycling network is good, and the terrain is rather flat.

Housing

In Canals, around 60% of buildings are single detached homes, while townhouses make up most of the remaining housing stock. A majority of the housing growth in this part of Airdrie has taken place after the year 2000. This area is primarily composed of four or more bedroom and three bedroom homes. Roughly 80% of the population of this neighbourhood own their home and 20% are renters.

Primary schools and daycares are convenient to reach without needing to get in a vehicle from most houses for sale in Canals. On the other hand, Canals does not have any high schools. Concerning food, it is convenient to reach the nearest grocery store as a pedestrian in this neighbourhood. Additionally, this part of the city is a good place in which to eat out, and property owners can enjoy a few cafes as well. It is also easy to reach a selection of clothing stores on foot.
